The Student Union of the University of Lapland cancels the nightclub events in September

The executive board of LYY has decided in their meeting on 29.8.2020 to cancel nightclub events in September due to COVID-19. The cancellation concerns the afterparty of Freshmen party (Fuksiaiset) as well as the Semester start (Varjoavajaiset) party, which were scheduled to take place in early September. The cancellation does not apply to the Freshmen party, which is organized outdoors and in accordance with official guidelines.  The events in September must comply with the safety distances as well as hygiene practices required by the Regional State Administrative Agency. Unfortunately, their implementation and supervision would not be possible at LYY’s nightclub events.  LYY will refund the money already paid for the tickets as soon as possible. If you have not received payment back for the ticket you purchased by September 14th, please contact the Adviser of Organizations and Communications Netta Riponiemi jarjestoasiantuntija(at)lyy.fi, +358 45 1384192.  LYY is looking for the possibility of organizing alternative events in accordance with official guidelines. We will pay special attention to the safety of the events. Safety measures for each event will be planned individually.  LYY has prepared an event guide for events to be held in the autumn. The guidelines apply to both event organizers and participants and we recommend following them.
